You Can Do Something to Help Others

We’re heading into a time when it will be viewed as cool to help others. I’m really happy about that. Two simple, effective and direct ways to help others at any stage of their lives are to do Labyrinth Readings or Labyrinth Orb Runs.

Labyrinth Readings are a lot like praying for another except that you read (usually from a spiritual text) directly to the other person. You don’t necessarily ask for intercession of a higher being though you certainly can if you’d like. The Tibetans and other ancient cultures have done readings for thousands of years.

Labyrinth Orb Runs are simple. You run through a special videogame-like environment and dedicate that run to the benefit of another. Nothing special. It’s easy and I can say that it does work for me, may work for you. This is a new technology worth checking out.

If you are interested stop by http://new.livestream.com/gorebaggtv/abd Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm Pacific time or visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/LRSForum/ to learn how you can add Labyrinth Reading or Running to your toolbox of ways to help others. That’s what it’s all about.

I knew Paul Brenner, what  a wonderful gentle man. I took a walk through Jacob Perlow Hospice with him back in the ’90s and had a good interview for our newsletter The Great Adventure. This was a time when hospice was flourishing. Complementary therapies were very active…massage, music therapy, water and light therapies, you name it. Paul was very open to including all of these holistic approaches in the institutional framework. A  very intelligent generous man and a great soul, we will miss him!

LRS Course starting; Learn a very simple, effective, time-honored way to help others

Labyrinth Reader’s Society Class starting this week (07/01/2014)!

Learn how to help others, including those who are overwhelmed, stressed, ill, or near the end of life.

Following is a brief description of our ongoing online activities taken from an email that I recently sent  to someone:

The best place to start is to join our very active discussion group the LRS Forum on Facebook where we talk about doing readings for the benefit of others, post requests for readings, and discuss the new virtual healing and spiritual environments, the orbs. You will see a full schedule of events on that forum, I believe it is posted daily.

We have several study groups which meet live on the internet in various chat venues. On Wednesday evenings there is a free class at 7pm Pacific time on www.justin.tv/gorebaggtv where there’s a discussion about the material in the American Book of the Dead. On Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays there are classes currently active at the Prosperity Virtual Ashram which is hosted on the second life platform. If you don’t know about the ashram you can read about it here: http://www.idhhb.com/worklines/pva/ashram-work.html  It’s easy to get to the Ashram, go to secondlife.com and choose an avatar. Download the free environment. Go to prosperity//the link below, (which will be at the ashram) then please send us your avatar’s name. We will help you learn how to navigate in the SL platform.

One location where we offer an open meeting and discussion (at the ashram) on Tuesday evenings 7pm PST is:  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/prosperity/113/207/2011

I am generally at this informal meeting and would be happy to see you and answer any questions.

As mentioned above, we also offer classes which deal with doing readings and the American Book of the Dead on Sunday afternoons and Friday evenings. The Sunday (3pm pst) class is the actual Readers course.

Finally, we are in the process of developing a home study course for working with the readings.  You can let me know if you are interested in that. If  you want to visit an excellent website which has instructions for doing runs and readings please see: http://www.theclearlight.com

I hope that this gives you enough information to get started, and I hope that I didn’t give you too much! I just want to convey again that if you have any questions please contact me through our contact page. I am more than happy to help.

Visit the Clearlight website, the LRS Forum, or the Caregiver website for more details.

Keeping Patients Out of Hospitals – Excellent Article

Keeping Patients Out of Hospitals: A Private-Sector Approach to Health Reform – Adam Wolfberg – The Atlantic.

This is such a good article I had to post it right away. I work in a busy hospital and see the revolving door of patients that these systems are trying to slow down. If more patients at the end of their lives can die peacefully at home then this is a true benefit of these care systems.
